The global packaging polyester industry has developed rapidly
in recent years, the growth in the production and sales of polyester bottles has not only brought huge business opportunities to upstream manufacturers engaged in the production of polyester bottle chips, but also further promoted the development of the global polyester industry. With the improvement of polyester bottle chip production technology and the improvement of cleaning equipment and mold technology with clean gauze, and the innovation of packaging technology, polyester bottle chip packaging materials have been gradually applied in the fields of food, beverage, edible oil, condiments, and expensive drugs. Because polyester bottle chips can better replace traditional packaging materials such as PVC, aluminum and glass, their market development potential is great
at present, the demand for polyester bottle chips has increased significantly, and has become the fastest growing product in polyester. With the rapid growth of polyester bottle chip production capacity and market demand, it is expected that the global polyester bottle chip production capacity and market demand growth rate will remain above 15% in the next few years. It is expected that the global polyester bottle chip production capacity will reach more than 10million tons in 2007, and its proportion in the total polyester output will rise from 16% to 24%. Recently, the new and proposed polyester bottle slicing device of international companies has attracted the attention of the industry
Dow has built a new polyester bottle chip factory in Germany. In the first half of last year, the European Union (EU) approved Dow Bayer materials technology of the United States to provide brand makers with system solutions from the research and development of new water-based PU coated fabrics to the scope of production. The company invested US $33.5 million to expand the polyester chip production plant in schkopau, Germany. Dow Chemical plans to build a second polyester bottle chip production plant with an annual output of 175000 tons in schkopau, Saxony in eastern Germany. The project involves polymer polyester bottle chips, and the market prospect is very good. The average annual growth rate is expected to be 9.7% before 2007. In Europe, 90% of polyester bottle chips are used for bottle production, 8% for other packaging, and 2% for surface coating
